Getting Started
How do I start journaling?
Open the app and tap on the "Journal" tab at the bottom. You'll see a daily prompt to get you started. Simply type your thoughts and Mirror will respond with thoughtful questions to help you reflect deeper.
Do I need to create an account?
No! ThoughtMirror works without any account or sign-up. Your data is stored locally on your device. Just download and start using the app immediately.
Is my journal private?
Yes, completely. All AI processing happens on your device using Apple's on-device AI. Your journal entries are never sent to our servers or any cloud service. We literally cannot read your entries.
Premium & Subscriptions
What's included in Premium?
Premium unlocks: unlimited AI conversations, advanced mood insights, Apple Health integration, home screen widgets, journal export as PDF, and unlimited history. Free users get 3 AI conversations per week.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to your iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → ThoughtMirror → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open ThoughtMirror on your new device and go to Settings → Upgrade to Premium → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your ThoughtMirror purchase, and request a refund.
Features & Usage
How do I connect Apple Health?
Go to Settings within the app and enable "Connect Apple Health." You'll be asked to grant permission for specific health data. This feature requires ThoughtMirror Premium.
Why isn't the AI responding?
ThoughtMirror's AI requires iOS 26 or later and a device that supports Apple Intelligence. If you're using an older device or iOS version, you'll still get helpful responses, but they may be more limited.
Can I export my journal?
Yes! Premium users can export their journal entries as a PDF. Go to Settings → Export Journal. Your entries will be compiled into a beautiful document you can save or print.
How do I add the widget?
Long-press on your home screen → tap the + button in the top corner → search for "ThoughtMirror" → choose your preferred widget size → tap "Add Widget." Widgets require Premium.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored locally on your iPhone. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your ThoughtMirror data may be included in your encrypted device backup.
What happens if I delete the app?
Deleting the app will permanently delete all your journal entries and mood data. This cannot be recovered unless you have an iCloud backup. Consider exporting your journal first if you have Premium.
Can I transfer my data to a new phone?
Yes! When you set up a new iPhone and restore from a backup (iCloud or computer), your ThoughtMirror data will transfer automatically.
